Stanford Arts Prescribing Program

Free arts & culture activities to help you flourish.

The Stanford Arts Prescribing Program gives you a prescription for arts & culture across Stanford and the greater Bay Area. You’ll be partnered with a Care Navigator who curates up to 9 free experiences for you to try.

Open to all Stanford undergrad, co-term, graduate students, and postdocs.

Stanford Arts is partnering with SocialRx to offer arts prescriptions to the University community.

How it Works

Decorative
Your Arts Prescription

Your arts prescription is a set of up to 9 arts & culture experiences, picked just for you. (We call each one a "dose.")

Working closely with a SocialRx Care Navigator, you'll identify and participate in activities that match what you're into and what you'd like to try. When you reach the end of your prescription, you can get a refill for additional doses.

We welcome all Stanford students and postdocs to explore the benefits of an arts prescription. Curiosity is the only requirement. (No diagnosis, reason, or arts background necessary.)

Decorative
Your Guide

Throughout your prescription, your guide (a SocialRx Care Navigator) gets to know what you love and what you’re curious about, then suggests experiences for each dose.

They handle the details, like tickets, RSVPs, and accessibility needs, send reminders, and check in afterward to see how it went.

Decorative
Your Experience

Prescriptions include:

  • Live performances (music, dance, and theater)
  • Artist and author talks
  • Glass fusing
  • Maker space workshops
  • Drawing and painting classes
  • and more!

However you use it, your arts prescription is about discovering what makes you flourish.
